What is EMDR?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, or EMDR is a psychotherapy approach used to quickly and efficiently heal emotional wounds, blocks and limitations. EMDR has been used successfully in patients with PTSD, depression, anxiety, panic attacks and many other issues. (See a brief CBS News video about EMDR featuring San Diego Trauma Therapist Sara Gilman’s client’s experience of EMDR therapy). EMDR is approved as an effective treatment for PTSD by the respected American Psychological Association, American Psychiatric Association, the Veteran’s Administration and almost all insurance companies.
